CONGRATULATIONS to Rocky Carson for winning the IRT Pro Stop in OH
Rocky Carson after reaching the tournament finals for the fourth time in the 2016-2017 International Racquetball Tour (IRT) season, the fifth time was the charm for Rocky Carson to become victorious. Carson, currently ranked as the No. 2 player in the world, beat his opponent, Daniel De Larossa in four games to win the 2017 “Raising Some Racquet for Kids” Tournament outside of Dayton, OH.
This was a great bounce back performance from Carson after losing a tough semi-final match in Chicago, IL, 11-9 in the tie-breaker, the weekend before. We made some great physical and mental adjustments from the weekend before which paid big dividends.
The tournament win became Carson’s 25th Professional Tournament victory of his career. His performance in the Buckeye State also highlighted some additional notable milestones. Rocky has now played in 230 IRT tournaments, placing him 2nd in the All-Time in that category. Carson’s 513 IRT career match victories now places him 3rd All-Time on that list.
With just two top tier events remaining in the current IRT season, Carson has cemented another Top 5 year-end ranking, which will be the 11th consecutive in his professional career.
The IRT next takes the court in mid-April in Florida and closes out the season in May in Oregon.
At the end of May, Rocky will attempt to defend his U.S. National Singles title in Arizona. With a good performance at the USA Racquetball National Singles Championships, Carson will make the National Team for the 15th time in his career.
****Stay turned for a busy April with Rocky and Paola playing in their IRT & LPRT events as well as Paola representing her country at the Pan American Championships in Costa Rica.
