Paola Longoria, No. 1 ranked LPRT female player in the world, playing for her home country of Mexico, won Gold Medals in the Women’s Singles Division, Women’s Doubles Division, with her partner Samantha Salas, and in the Women’s Team competition at the Central American & Caribbean Games.
Costa Rica, San Jose – August 18, 2018
Paola Longoria from HEAD Penn’s Professional Playing Team turned around with less than 10 days’ recovery from the Central American Games to represent her home country of Mexico at the XIX World Championships. The World Championships featured over 200 competitors from 18 countries and was hosted at the beautiful San Jose Racquet Club.
Paola made it to the finals of the Women’s Singles Division of the World Championships and earned a Silver medal after losing a tough disappointing tie-breaker to Gabby Martinez who played extremely well.
What is so impressive is on the International Racquetball Federation’s (IRF) international stage, Paola has now won 45 medals playing for Team Mexico. Of those medals, 37 have been gold. She has won three World Singles Championships and three World Doubles Championships.
I have been to a majority of Paola’s International competitions over the last 9 years as her Coach and I must say her hunger and desire to improve and keep getting better never dwindles. Once the competition is over she asks me, “What do I need to work on? Please send me what I need to practice and drill?” Paola is always striving to be the BEST and is never complacent, a coach’s dream come true.
