San Antonio, Texas & Syosset, New York – May 5th, 2019
With tournament victories in back-to-back weeks in Texas and New York, Paola Longoria is on track for an undefeated season on the 2018-2019 Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT). In the ‘Battle at the Alamo’ event in San Antonio during the last weekend in April, Paola – the No. 1 ranked racquetball player in the world – did not drop a single game en route to the title in the Women’s Professional Singles division.
After traveling over a couple time zones, Longoria pulled off the back-to-back tournament sweep by also winning the Women’s Professional Singles division at the ‘Syosset Open’ outside of New York City. The Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour lists Paola’s win in Syosset as her 97th career professional singles tournament title.
The final event of the current LPRT season takes place this weekend, June 14-16, 2019, in Overland Park, Kansas. Should Longoria win that event, she will finish an LPRT season undefeated for the fifth time in her career (previous undefeated seasons: 2017-2018, 2015-2016, 2013-2014 & 2012-2013). Only four other ladies have finished an LPRT season undefeated and they each only did so once. In two other seasons, Paola suffered just a single loss.
