Paola Longoria won the Women’s Professional Singles title at the Battle at Alamo in San Antonio, TX and followed up with the Women’s Professional Doubles title in Greenville, SC.
San Antonio, Texas – May 12, 2023 – HEAD Penn’s Paola Longoria (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) won the Women’s Professional Singles division at the Battle at the Alamo in San Antonio, TX on the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT).
Longoria – the No. 1 ranked female racquetball player in the world – won her third singles event on the LPRT this season. Paola defeated Brenda Laime (Cali, Colombia) in the finals, 15-7, 15-3 to win her 110th career pro singles title on the LPRT.
Paola then teamed up with her doubles partner Samantha Salas Solis (Apodaca, Mexico) the following weekend in Greenville, SC to win the Women’s Professional Doubles division at the Sweet Caroline Open Grand Slam on the LPRT. Paola and Samantha defeated Alexandra Herrera (Monterrey, Mexico) and her partner Montserrat Mejia (Monterrey, Mexico) in the finals, 15-11, 15-6.
HEAD Penn’s Erika Manilla (Centennial, Colorado) earned a semifinal appearance in the Women’s Professional Singles division at the Sweet Caroline Open Grand Slam. She defeated Maria Jose Vargas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) in the quarterfinals, 10-15, 15-11, 11-10. Manilla faced Gabriel Martinez (Guatemala City, Guatemala) in the semifinals and was eliminated, 15-3, 15-10.
HEAD Penn’s Natalia Mendez (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and her partner Maria Jose Vargas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) were semifinalists in the Women’s Professional Singles division at the Sweet Caroline Open Grand Slam. Natalia and Maria defeated Valeria Centellas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Erika Manilla, 15-6, 15-10. They were eliminated in the semifinals against Alexandra Herrera and Montse Mejia, 15-8, 15-7.
Paola, Erika, and Natalia will next play at the LPRT tournament in Chesapeake, Virginia in June.
